WHAT WE DID

Gilbert needed fresh headshots and promotional content that reflected his credibility, approachability, and depth of experience—without feeling staged or stiff. We chose Smoked Garage for its textured, character-rich backdrop and created a relaxed, conversational shoot that allowed his personality to shine through.

The session was designed to feel more like a coffee catch-up than a traditional shoot—low-pressure, high-impact. We captured a mix of editorial-style portraits, candid moments, and short video clips to support his online presence and future speaking engagements.

But Trish Anderson from StoryLens Media made it a very fun experience that to my shock (and slight disappointment) did not involve any lava or earthquakes!

I needed new headshots and some promo shots for a while and kept messing around with selfies for too long. Given the material she had to work with, I think she did a great job.

My mum will be so chuffed that I am smiling with teeth, because apparently I am the only person who thinks I look like a deranged axe murderer that scares kids and small adults at 100 paces.
